I have had an amazing year so far at the middle school I go to, so today I will be sharing my top three memories. The first one, is when we did our 20% project. I remember when I was crocheting my blanket, and I got to listen to music, and talk with my friends. I enjoyed crocheting, and it felt like we weren’t even any school. It was much fun, and made my school year a lot better. My next memory, was getting all four’s on my math tests (a four means an A+). Not only math tests obviously, but those are the tests I have most often. I love when I get a perfect score, because it makes me feel so good. The suspense kills me, but the relief when I know I did amazing is unmatchable. It inspires me to do well on other tests too, and get good grades overall. Lastly, I loved Mrs. Gonzalez’s class. We got to cook and sew, which are two things I love to do. When we cooked, we always got to eat what our team made afterwards, which was so delicious. Also, am pretty good at sewing, so the sewing unit was awesome, as it wasn’t to difficult, but definitely not easy. It was the perfect challenge. Thank you so much for reading about my favorite memories!
20% Project Week 6 – Crocheting
For week six of working on my project, I got two bundles of yarn, and started on a new blanket. I am making this one pink, and it’s a bit longer than the white one. To start it, I decided to go off of memory, and luckily, I did it right. Then, over the weekend, I bought even more yarn because I ran out. There was only two more bundles of yarn left, so I bought them. But, I finished it on Sunday, so now I need even more. Other than that, I didn’t have any more struggles to deal with. Now, this is my last week of my 20% project, but that does not mean I won’t continue. I plan to work on my blanket on Fridays, when I don’t have dance, or really any free time I have, because I find it really fun. I am so glad that I got to have this experience, and I’m so excited to keep going. Thank you so much for reading my blog!
Happiness
This image shows a lot. It shows two boys, one happy one sad. The one on the left, is sad. He looks like he’s in a nice house, with a TV, and a bunch of toys. Whereas the boy on the right, is outside, with no shoes, ripped clothing and only one toy. I think the boy on the left is sad because he isn’t satisfied. He has too much, and is somewhat spoiled. They’re not very special anymore, which takes away from the joy. The boy on the right, I think, is happy because he appreciates everything. It doesn’t matter to him what he doesn’t have, and is grateful for what he does. The caption states that if you keep expecting more and more, it won’t hold any value to you, because you won’t think it’s enough. The boy on the left thinks he needs more toys to be happy, but that’s not true.
20% Project #5: Crochet
This week my goal for my 20% project was to crochet more of my blanket, but I have actually changed that plan. I finished another bundle of yarn, and decided to finish my blanket. I felt like it was at a perfect length, and didn’t want to make it too long. To do this, I looked up a video on YouTube, and followed the steps to make the correct stitches needed. It was a little bit difficult, but I eventually got the hang of it, and finished the row. Next week instead of finishing my blanket, I will be trying to find more materials to make another blanket! I’m not sure I want to make it the same color, or a different color, or even multiple colors. So, next week, my plan is to figure that out. I luckily did not have any struggles this week, and I am glad to say that this experience was amazing. It was so much fun, which is why I will be making another one!
Rad Reading – April
In April, I read the book The Heir by Kiera Cass. The Heir is a fictional novel about a princess, named Eadlyn Schreave. Her parents request a selection, where boys are randomly picked, and go to the castle to try to win her over. At the end of it, she is supposed to get married. She is doing this to please the general public, although her intentions on finding a suitable partner are different than her parents.
I really enjoyed this book, as I got to know exactly what Eadlyn was thinking. In many situations, she described every single one of her thoughts, and in detail. It definitely made the book more entertaining to read, keeping me questioning what she would think or say next. Not only that, but Eadlyn is not perfect. She has problems, just like everyone else. I like this because it makes the book relatable.
Eadlyn was my favorite character, and I say this because she was brave, and always thought positively, even when others didn’t. Eadlyn grew as a character in many different ways. She began kind of bossy, but she learned to calm down, and be more kind to people. Eadlyn was an inspirational character, and I can prove this with a quote she says to herself to lift her mood, “I’m smart and beautiful and strong. I don’t need to be rescued.”
My favorite quote from the book is, “You can be brave and still be feminine. You can lead and still love flowers. Most importantly, you can be queen and still be a bride.” I like this quote because she is bringing herself good energy. She’s reminding herself just how powerful and confident she is, which sets her in a positive mindset.
20% Project Week 4: Crocheting
While working on my 20% project this week, I finished yet another bundle of yarn, and made a change to my plan for next week. I’m still going to crochet more of my blanket, but I ran out of yarn! I need to also make sure I go to the store, and get more. Although, I don’t know if I need 1 or 2 more rolls, because it depends on how big I want it to be. Luckily, I didn’t have any difficulties this week, because I have practiced a lot, and have gotten the hang of the movements. I also didn’t need to make any adjustments to stay on track, because I made sure to stay focused. I have found, that it’s actually really fun and calming to crochet. I like how I can still talk with my friends, or listen to music while I’m working too. Thank you for reading my blog!
My Room
If I had to choose one room in my house to be my favorite, I would choose my own bedroom. This is my top pick for multiple reasons, but I will only be sharing three today. My first reason, is the comfort. I have almost everything I need! But, there are a couple key things that make my room perfect. For example, my speaker to play music, my bed to lay on while relaxing, and my desk to have a space to get work done! Secondly, the private aspect of it. I like the cozy vibe of being in my own space, getting to wind down alone. It makes me feel happy, and at ease, knowing I’m just by myself sometimes. Lastly, my room is the perfect place to host my friends. This is because there are loads of enjoyable activities to do! That is why my bedroom is my favorite room in my whole house! Thank you for reading my blog!
Crocheting – 20% Project, Week 3
This week for my 20% project my goal was to crochet more of the blanket. Luckily I completed that goal, and it’s looking really good so far! I tried to lay under it to get a feel for it, and it’s very comfortable. I even like to lay on it while crocheting so I’m not sitting on the hard floor. Some of my blanket same undone, since I’m not finished with my project, but I learned how to quickly fix it without having to redo the stitches until that point. So far, I have actually made a lot of progress on my blanket. I finished yet another bundle of yarn this week, and am proud of what I have accomplished so far. Although, I have a feeling I am going to finish my blanket early, so I’ve been thinking about starting a new one, if I have time. This may put a change in my plan, so I’m not sure yet, but I honestly really enjoy working on it, so it would at least be fun. Next week, I plan to work on my blanket even more, so it is longer.
Rad Reading – March
For this month, I read The Baby-Sitters club Kristy and the Snobs by Ann M. Martin. This story is about a girl named Kristy, who moved to a new neighborhood due to her mom getting married. She meets her new neighbors, and they are very rude to her. One of her rude neighbors turns out to also be a babysitter just like her. When she was babysitting in her new neighborhood, she had fun with her neighbor. At the end, Kristy comes to realize that her neighbor isn’t so bad after all.
I recommend this book because the events that happen are very unexpected, and keep me wanting to read more. The story also has a really good art style. When someone was feeling and emotion, you could definitely tell, as the facial expressions were big. In conclusion, this is why I recommend this book.
My favorite character is Kristy. Kristy is my favorite character because she is always outgoing and helpful. One of her character traits is accepting. A quote that proves this character trait is, “She’s not as bad as I thought she was. In fact, she’s sort of…alright.” This quote proves that Kristy is accepting, because she is being open minded about a someone she was questioning. For these reasons Kristy is helpful and my favorite character.
My favorite quote from The Baby-Sitters club Kristy and the Snobs is, “Let’s name her Shannon.” This is my favorite quote because it’s a heartwarming moment. This is the part where a girl named Shannon gives her new neighbor’s a dog (one of her dog’s puppies) because they just had to put theirs down. The neighbors are so excited, and happy that they decided to name the dog Shannon after her. For this reason, this is my favorite quote because it is very heartwarming.
Crochet – 20% Project, Week 2
I have worked on my 20% project this week, and here is my progress so far! This week, my goal was to bring all of my materials and continue on my blanket. I completed this goal, and even finished a whole bundle of yarn! I made sure to focus hard, and tried not to get off task while working. Some struggles I had were running out of yarn, and I solved that problem by watching a YouTube tutorial that showed me how to attach a separate bundle of yarn onto the one that had ended. This got me right back on track to continue on. Crocheting has been really fun and enjoyable the whole time, and I’m so excited to continue on. Next week I will be working on finishing more rows, and would like to crochet another bundle of yarn! Thank you so much for reading my blog this week!
